Hmmm....

This is very well made, and I liked the fact going diagonally was hard to do because of the block you had to save. I like it.

Thanks :) Next time I should make a game with better art, that doesnt look so random ;)

Quite good for a first try!

@TeleporterFIN Make something from flash that equals/exceeds this submission then you'll have the right to review if you're going to act that way! Also, the review bit clearly says "The review space is not a place for you to act like a total asshole." which I think sums up what you did very easily.

Review: Quite good for a start, but you need to add simple things like health/lives/losing system, points, levels, etc. etc.

>:D

All i want now is a sequel!

You didn't give me teh answerz!

16! What is it?

Meh!

A great attempt, but had nothing, well, special. No frills, no fancy effects. Just another match-3 game. I think that saying "Level 1 of 6" is not as 'effective' as "Level 1" Free play mode needed, and wih it LEADERBOARDS!!! Also, I think that you needed to 'elaborate' on the bars at the bottom. I mean, what did they do? Was it gold and silver times? Or just a time bar and an extra points bar.

!!!!!!!!!

Great tutorial for a beginner, though you could of used variables:
Put this in a frame:
var speed:Number = 5
That way you can write "speed" instead of 5 in your scripts, and you can use speed*3 instead of manually having to change each number(in case the speed is too fast, or you can change the speed(on a bonus round or sumat)by on the bonus round's frame putting:
speed=100
Though 100 is alot.

trekopep responds:

Yup. Since I made this tutorial, I've improved in actionscript a lot. I look back on this as something that WORKS, but doesn't work extremely WELL. Variables have become one of my best friends in coding. However, this is, as you said, a beginner-oriented tutorial, so I guess it's okay.

Thanks for the review!

Meh.

Difficulty is too much. I mean, maybe it's because I'm used to Frantic, which has LOADS of enemies with low health and this game has a few enemies with HIGH health. I think the enemies being able to collect them is stupid because half of the time they're at the top of the screen, collecting the power-ups you need! And another thing - I was making a game called "Glow Shooter" and then I search the name at the top and - BAM! - you've already got the name. And your "Glow Shooter" isn't even glow-y!
3/5
6/10

Ahh... difficulty, where would we be without you?

This is a great game. Everybody is voting low because, well they don't like change.
Overall:
~~~~~~~
Everybody's got used to "Easy" being the native difficulty(And lets face it, haven't we all?) and so now they don't want to go back to actually having to try. I think this game works better with no frills(i.e: no upgrades/customisation etc.)
Music:
~~~~~~
Loved it. Really, I think it slots into the game perfectly. It gave a sense of unusuality and unknowing, but kept the 8-Bit-ness! (But no Mute button, but i'm not bothered about that(I can turn off my volume!).)
Gameplay:
~~~~~~~~~~
First thing to address: Sticking keys! I think this could of been done for aesthetic and atmospheric reasons. Or it could be crappy coding. Keys? Seen it too many times before, but what else? Now, always respawning at a point you could move - now thats innovation - i've never seen it done in this way! I can't believe no-one thought about that before!
Graphics:
~~~~~~~~~
PPIIIIXXXEEELLLSSS!!!!!! I love pixelated games! But that's a matter of opinion.....
~~~~~~~~~~
10/10 and 5/5 and faved!!!!
Not my favourite rythym game.....
I docked 1 point for the unoriginality and the fact that you didn't change the HUD when I chose "Easy" mode.(I mean there being only 3 note "lines" rather than showing all 5 note "lines") I docked another point off for the fact that most songs (1-in-3!) required you to go to the "GameNode" website to play them! I really don't mind this with most game, seen as about 1-in-5 levels are on their sponsor's site, but most games are 1-in-5 and not 1-in-3. I just think 1-in-3 is too much.
I hope you read it all. /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\
Hmmm....
This needs expanding. Perhaps a level system is in order or... something. It really has no substance.
Perhaps these below would be good starting points.
Random items every time?
Levels?
(Adequate) changes between difficulties?
Custom cursor? (lololololol)
Oh, and it's not the most addicting game for me sorry.
ImpactGames responds:
ok. Thank you. I'm mainly trying out a new highscore system.
Wassup! Guess what I like doing?, I like making T.A.S.T.Y flashes!
